Das Gebiet rund um Zermatt mit dem Matterhorn als Mittelpunkt ist einmalig. Der Berg selber

ist jedoch von der Gornergrat Station etwas zu weit weg und erscheint daher nicht sehr impo-
sant. Von der Station Riffelberg sind die Dimension dieses riesigen Klotzes schon eher zu er-
ahnen. Ich werde daher bei meinem nächsten Besuch mehr Richtung Ost- und Nordwand

ziehen, wenn möglich zur Hörnlihütte.

The panorama around Zermatt with the Matterhorn as the center piece is really spectacular.
The mountain however does'nt look that impressive from Gornergrat. It's too far away. During

my next tour I will proceed more near towards the east and north faces.
